Born in Solihull, West Midlands in 1987, and graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art for Drawing Practice in 2009, Samuel Kelly's aero-abstractions redefine our perception of an ever expanding concrete organism that has formulated around us.

Inspired by dense, heavily built up cities observed from high altitude, particularly concerned with their claustrophobic, frantic and often dizzying complexity, Samuel explores the controversial scope of interlacing the freeform energy of organic growth found in plant life, with the strict perimeters and regimentation common within the urban environment.

Samuel has forged his own vision of a world that does not obey the logical perimeters of infrastructure, instead, embracing a seamless, unbroken fabric of weaving urban buildings.

The unique combination of these contexts gives birth to a robust hybridized abstraction, with core elements extruded in such a way that each individual piece has an impossibly intricate, mesmerizing aesthetic that forces us to question our ongoing infestation of the natural world, yet at the same time revel in the beauty of the man made.
